I am always fascinated at the beauty and ingenuity of nature. Not all pollinators live in hives. Beebox is an attempt to draw attention to this. My work frequently draws from my fascination with the incredible sculptural forms created in nature. This Beebox is strictly a metaphor. - Leigh Maddox

About the Artist: Leigh Maddox was born in London, England. She received her BA (hons) in Fine Art at the University of the West of England and her MFA in Interrelated Media at Towson University, Maryland. She has been teaching 3-D and Sculpture as an adjunct professor at Towson University since 2001. Maddox’s artwork includes sculpture, installation, drawings, painting and performance. She has permanent outdoor works in Bel Air Maryland and Portland in England and has been props fabricator for film and advertising. Leigh exhibits regionally, nationally and internationally and has lectured in the USA, Europe and Asia.
